Issue details:The Cochabamba Overprints of August 1925 of the 50 Centavos Coat of Arms Stamp of 1923 are considered by Bolivian air mail specialists to inaugurate the first authentic first flights of Bolivia. Although flights had been made in Bolivia since 1913, it is considered that no genuine pioneer flight cover exists prior to 1925. Those before that date are considered to be bogus. An F13 Junkers monoplane had been brought to Cochabamba in sections by rail by the South American Junkers Mission to demonstrate their craft in the hope of selling their planes in Bolivia. This plane called "El Oriente" was successfully flown on the 27th July 1925. This was only a short demonstration flight. The overprinting of the 50 centavos postage stamp was authorized by the Prefect of the State of Cochabamba, General Federico Roman and the Postmaster Colonel Luis Frias. Three different overprints were applied for the three different flights. The 'Correo Aereo a La Paz 14-8-1925' overprint for the flight to La Paz is the 3rd part (3/3) of the Cochabamba serial issue of August 1925.
